Lazy Saturday

And apparently not just for mere humans either.

I enjoyed watching the squirrels basking in the sun.  And unusual for them, it was a treat to see both black and grey squirrels sharing the same space. Normally there would be much chasing and chattering if these rodent cousins crossed paths!

Mid way through a three day weekend and not feeling much ambition for anything.  Maybe it’s the weather, because finally we have some sunshine today and the temperatures are much more spring like!
Seems I just want to enjoy having the windows open and feeling a relatively warm spring breeze sweep through the house.

Some laundry has been on the agenda and putting together Easter baskets for the grandchildren for tomorrow – that’s been pretty much the extent of the day’s energy output! Body Perfect sits before me and I will try and get some more of the revised pages cleaned up.   But the supper hour beckons and that will need to be dealt with first.

Let’s see; what else is in the works right now.  The price of gas – disgusting, with promises to go even higher!  As well I need to have new brakes installed on my car within the next week or two...ouch $$$.   And our federal election heads into the home stretch; my mind is already decided so I’m not too bothered by the endless commercials and flyers.

Well that's too much brain commotion for now, so I'll just end by wishing all a very Happy Easter – whether its lazy or filled with activity.

Cheers!

Spring cravings

When it gets to this time of year I long for plants and flowers, so yesterday I treated myself to some tulips. It is also a time to crave asparagus and strawberries. Not that we can't get them all year round at inflated prices no less, but that they seem to taste different as well.
Yesterday Liz was supposed to spend the whole day with me but the paying job... was calling and she had to work overtime. However when she did get here we had quite a profitable afternoon before we tucked into a slow cooked pot roast and fruit crumble. Nothing like comfort food to...well comfort you.

We decided to go to the conference in June and hopefully the taxman will help us pay for this investment in Jamie Tremain.
Reading the first two chapters we still fiddled around with little words but we are definitely finished and it is being sent out to three agents this week. One American, one British and one Canadian. That will leave us free to go back to Body Perfect as it may be months before we ever hear from them. That is just the nature of the business. An editor will evaluate the manuscript at Bloody Perfect. Will tell you more about the conference when we get an agenda.

Easter next w/e and hope to spend time with a couple of grandsons. Not sure about the weather but as long as the sun is shining.

Talk later,
Pam

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday!

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day! And what a glorious day it is, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, snow is receding and robins singing!

Went to a lovely Easter service this morning and now am just going to be lazy for the rest of the day. Pam is hopefully enjoying a few days R & R, and has one more day off work before returning on Tuesday. The writing has been on hold and we will have to get back to it this week!

I enjoyed my own few days break from work, but unfortunately Monday morning looms again :-(

We have another writing workshop with Brian Henry coming up later next month, which we are looking forward to, and inching ever closer to wrapping up Madelaine.

Be back to check in again soon.

Cheers!
Liz
